Heineken Global – Drive a change program
Heineken’s Global Cider business has established itself as a major player in the alcoholic beverage market globally. In 2016 it had appointed a new leadership team that wanted to take growth to the next level and develop the cider category. For this to happen it needed to engage senior team in Heineken around cider and excite them about its potential for long term growth.
We helped to develop the Authentic Strategy Story to engage and excite stakeholders around their global strategy for their Cider business. We also created a story platform and up-skilled the global cider team in story skills and with story techniques to enable them to engage with stakeholders better. The results were immediate as there was a dramatic increase in senior management buy-in to the cider strategy and the company is moving more and more toward being a beer and cider business.
Padraig and the Core Story team contribute to the strategy as well as crafting and refining the story. They are more of a partner from end to end from strategy definition, to engagement and execution. Not just the last stage of the storytelling.
Vizeum – Transformation in a disrupted environment.
Vizeum is a successful media business who realised that they were in a market that was heavily disrupted and their value to the customer was being undermined. They needed to find a new value proposition and become the incumbent disruptor in their market.
The Core Story Team worked with the Vizeum senior team to establish an Authentic Strategy that enabled them to disrupt the market and find a way to win against formidable competition. We also helped them to develop and implement a transformation change program to transition to the new position on the market.
Vizeum went from being a Media agency to the Growth Agency and has already had success on the market with the new position.
The Core Story process has been a great journey to go on. It has helped us to define the future for our business in a turbulent and chaotic industry. We feel we have ended up with a vision and strategy that is authentic and differentiated and we have a team that is excited about the future.
Smurfit Kappa – Transformation of Sales Force
The Smurfit Kappa Group plc is Europe’s leading corrugated packaging company and one of the leading paper-based packaging companies in the world. They initiated a major transformation in 2015 to become more innovative and customer focused. As part of this initiative The Core Story team worked with the Sales Transformation Group to establish the new way to engage with the customer and support a value selling approach.
We developed the outline for a value selling program as well as tools to support new conversations with the customer. The company successfully launched a value selling program and achieved immediate results in sales. In the period since the change program was initiated the brand value for Smurfit Kappa has risen by 240million euro.
Wilson Hartnell (WH) – Authentic Strategy Discovery
Wilson Hartnell (WH) is the largest and one of the longest established communications agencies in Ireland, with a proud reputation of delivering best in class work to clients such as Diageo. The agency approached us when they were looking at defining a new strategy for growth in a market that was being disrupted and the roles of agencies were changing fast. They wanted to establish a space where they could differentiate themselves and which would be authentic to who they are.
We used The Core Story process to help them discover a new strategy that was authentic to them, that excited the team and was driven by defining the market as much as looking at what customers needs were.
WH adopted a strategy of being the No1 Cultural Agency and this has helped consolidate their leadership position in the market and has led quickly to new business wins.
